Gur Monographs · Monographies Voltaïques

Edited by: Gudrun Miehe, Brigitte Reineke, Manfred von Roncador.

The Gur languages are part of the Niger-Congo language family and one of the most important language groups in Western Africa. Their French name indicates their geographic distribution along the river Volta. The Gur languages are class languages, and their nominal classes differ significantly in their modes of affixation. Consequently, the genealogical connections between the languages remain to be clarified. In this series, paper collections, bibliographies, and doctoral theses will be published that have been financed by the German Research Foundation (DFG) within the frame of the long-term project Grundlagenforschung in den Gursprachen.
